The recent controversy over Bud Light’s partnership with trans activist Dylan Mulvaney has resulted in a heated debate among political commentators and critics on both sides of the aisle. On the one hand, some are calling for a boycott of the beer over Bud Light’s decision to feature Mulvaney in a March Madness ad. On the other, Donald Trump Jr. and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) walked into a hornets nest when they asked conservatives to stop boycotting the beer.
Trump Jr. argued that boycotting Bud Light was a “bad call” due to the company’s lack of participation in the “leftist nonsense” and “woke garbage” seen with other beer companies. Despite this, the NRCC was widely criticized after deleting a tweet and fundraising page where people could donate money and receive a drink koozie. Anheuser-Busch has donated close to $465,000 to the NRCC for the 2022 election cycle.
Once it was learned the GOP had taken a decent amount of money from Anheiser-Busch, all hell broke loose.
So, IF you give the GOP enough money the company can do anything they want to society. Check. https://t.co/35FGpDhhJW

On his podcast Trump Jr. defended the company, calling for an end to the boycott citing the company is “iconic” and that it has a history of donations to Republican candidates.
“So, here’s the deal. Anheuser-Busch totally s— the bed with this Dylan Mulvaney thing. I’m not, though, for destroying an American, an iconic company for something like this,” Trump Jr. said Thursday.
”The company itself doesn’t participate in the same leftist nonsense as the other big conglomerates,” he added. “Frankly, they don’t participate in the same woke garbage that other people in the beer industry actually do, who are significantly worse offenders when I looked into it. But if they do this again, then it’s on them. Then, screw them.”
Does Don Jr. own stock in Anheuser-Busch or something? Now’s the time to double down on the boycott, not quit. This is why Republicans always get their asses kicked by the left.

The criticism of the NRCC and Trump Jr.’s defense of Bud Light has been widespread, with some calling it hypocritical and “gutless” to try and squelch a boycott of the beer. Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth finally broke his silence on the controversy last week, claiming that the company never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. Following this, Bud Light released a pro-America ad.
Meanwhile, the boycott seems to be working, and the pressure forced a lackluster apology.
The statement won’t satisfy their conservative customers because there is no apology or acknowledgment of wrong. And it won’t satisfy the Left because it doesn’t affirm transgenderism and admits at least (without using the word) that the trans issue “divides people.”
