In a recent episode, late-night show host Stephen Colbert had journalist Kaitlan Collins as his guest. The pair discussed several topics including a phone call she had with Trump recently.
However, there was one moment that stood out that was hilarious.
First off, for those that don’t know Kaitlin Collins began her rise to fame at the conservative outlet called The Daily Caller; yes, the organization co-founded by Tucker Carlson. When Trump announced he was running in 2015 she was assigned to follow him. She was actual part of his rise in right wing media because she would post clips on the internet and Trump gave her access.
Then, when Trump won the election, she was promoted by the Daily Caller to be their White House correspondent. That was when CNN poached her and she bagged The Daily Caller for the money.
Once at CNN she adapted the company line and would constantly spar with Trump and officials.
To be clear, no Trump, no Kaitlin Collins.
During her visit with the late-night host, she got seriously triggered. Colbert, swooned over her and said she is an “objective” reporter. When he said that the audience laughed like it was a joke.
“I know you guys are objective, that you just report the news as it is.” The audience erupted into laughter at this assertion, much to his surprise.
Caught off guard by the audience’s laughter, a stammering Colbert swiftly steered the conversation towards the possibility of Biden dropping out of the race.
The look on Colbert and Collins’s faces was priceless.
