Indiana Woman Charged Following Alleged Threats Made To President Trump

U.S. Attorney General for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro announced that Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, of Lafayette, Indiana, has been arrested and hit with two federal charges after allegedly threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump.

According to the DOJ complaint, Jones wasn’t just spouting off online—she made direct threats on social media and then doubled down in two separate Secret Service interviews, admitting she wanted the President “eliminated.” She even claimed she had a “bladed object” she would use to “carry out her mission.” She framed her threats as “revenge” for the COVID-19 pandemic, which she irrationally blamed on Trump’s vaccine policies.

Pirro made it clear there will be zero tolerance for this kind of behavior:

“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution. Make no mistake—justice will be served.”

Jones now faces charges for:

  • Threatening to kill or injure the President of the United States

  • Transmitting interstate threats to kidnap or injure another person

These are extremely serious charges, with the potential for decades in prison if convicted.

Pirro also pointed to the wider law enforcement crackdown in D.C. since President Trump federalized the police on August 11. In just over a week, there have been 400 arrests, including 127 this past weekend alone, with dozens of illegal firearms taken off the streets and arrests made for homicide, drug trafficking, sex predators, and illegal immigrants.

This all comes on the heels of the tragic assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania last year that killed firefighter Corey Comperatore and nearly took President Trump’s life. It’s no surprise the administration is cracking down hard on threats like this.
