Federal Officials Make Arrest Outside ICE Facility

The long-running standoff outside Portland’s ICE facility escalated again Tuesday night when federal agents staged what observers called a “Trojan horse” operation, using an unmarked white van to move in on protesters and make arrests.

Video captured by The Post Millennial shows federal officers surging out of the facility in South Portland, chasing and tackling suspects in the street. Three individuals described as Antifa-affiliated agitators were ultimately taken into custody on charges ranging from unlawful assembly to assault.

This was not a routine crowd dispersal. ICE agents, along with Homeland Security’s Federal Protective Service (FPS) and Border Patrol, coordinated the surprise tactical maneuver after weeks of harassment and violent clashes at the Macadam Avenue facility. Rooftops were manned by federal snipers, officers guarded the driveway, and an unmarked van mingled quietly in the area until the moment agents poured out to snatch a suspect from the mob.

The dramatic operation comes as President Trump ramps up federal intervention in Portland. On Tuesday, he federalized 200 members of the Oregon National Guard, deploying them for up to 60 days to reinforce ICE and protect federal property. “At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to provide all necessary Troops to protect war ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa and other domestic terrorists,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”

The Portland ICE facility has been under siege since June 7, with nightly clashes turning the surrounding neighborhood into something resembling a combat zone. Protesters, many masked in black bloc gear, have assaulted federal officers, launched fireworks and tear gas at them, and attempted to barricade the facility. Local police have largely refused to intervene, leaving federal forces to hold the line.

Democrat Gov. Tina Kotek has blasted Trump’s move as unnecessary “federal overreach,” insisting Oregon can manage on its own. Yet critics point out that entire blocks of South Portland have effectively become a lawless zone, with residents and passersby targeted if suspected of opposing Antifa.

Trump doubled down Wednesday, denouncing Portland as “a NEVER-ENDING DISASTER” and “run like a Third World Country.” He vowed the National Guard would restore order, declaring: “We will never allow MOBS to take over our streets, burn our Cities, or destroy America. We are a Nation of LAW, and we will PREVAIL.”
