Hello, folks! We’ve got some thrilling political news to share with you today. So, kick back, sip your coffee, and get ready to delve into some fresh poll results.
A recent survey conducted on July 15 and 16 reveals that former President Trump is leading current President Biden in seven swing states and even in a national report. Nationally, Trump is garnering 46% of registered voters, while Biden is slightly behind at 42%. Interestingly, 12% of voters haven’t decided yet who they’re supporting.
Furthermore, this represents a two-point drop in support for Biden since earlier this month. Spencer Kimball, the head of Emerson, suggests that Biden seems to be losing support more than Trump is gaining it. The big question now is – is this due to the debate, or has Trump just hit his peak support level?
Now, when third-party candidates are included, Trump maintains or even extends his lead nationally and in six out of seven swing states. This has been consistent since as early as March 2024.

There are also interesting numbers on whether voters believe Biden should step down. Nationally, it’s a close call – 52% say he should, while 48% say he shouldn’t. As for Trump, 56% believe he should stay in the race, whereas 44% believe he should step aside.
Now, onto some demographics. Most white and Hispanic voters opine that Biden should withdraw, while most Black voters believe he shouldn’t. An evident age divide is also seen here. Approximately 60% of voters under 50 think Biden should step aside, while the majority of those over 60 believe he should stay.
In terms of gender, both men and women are evenly split at 52% each, advocating that Biden should withdraw. For Trump, there’s a noticeable divide – 50% of women feel he should step aside, while only 36% of men concur.
What about the new voters, the ones casting their ballot for the first time? The poll reveals that 32% support Trump, while 24% back Biden. Interestingly, new voters have typically leaned Democratic since 1992, so this is a trend to keep an eye on!
