Beginning sometime in the midst of the 2016 election, a strange new accusation of racism began to spring up in Democratic circles.
Suddenly, and after decades of promoting the very same idea, the liberal left no longer wanted to spend time securing the southern border. This was a vast departure from their previous stance on the subject, and appeared to be simply an attempt to disparage then-candidate Donald Trump.
And so, somehow, the idea of building a wall on the border became “racist” – at least according to the loudest of the Democrats.
Ohio candidate JD Vance just obliterated that asinine argument.
Americans should not be labeled “racist” by Democrats like Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) simply because they believe in national sovereignty and borders, Republican J.D. Vance says.
During Monday evening’s Ohio Senate debate, Ryan accused Vance and other Republicans of supporting the so-called “Great Replacement Theory.” Vance responded by blasting Ryan on the issue of national sovereignty, saying that Americans should be able to support borders without being labeled “a racist” by Ryan and elected Democrats.
Vance dropped the hammer.
“You can believe in a border without being a racist. You can believe in the country without being a racist,” Vance said.
And then, in a direct attack against his opponent:
“You cannot honestly pretend to be a defender of border security when you have voted for amnesty multiple times in Congress,” Vance said. “You cannot pretend to be a defender of border security when you have voted against border wall funding.”
Vance has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, and appears to be a serious contender in the race…especially if he maintains this fiery, unflappable demeanor.
