Well this was an interesting interview.
Recently, Senator John Fetterman gave an interview with Newsmax (yes, you read that right).
What he said caught Democrats by surprise.
Fetterman has publicly shared his views on the upcoming contest between Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. He anticipates that Pennsylvania voters will support Trump. While he concedes that the race will be tight.
“I think if you match up Trump with Harris, and I think that’s what this is really about, and I do believe he’s going to win Pennsylvania. And I do believe it’s going to be close, but whether it’s Biden, whether it was Clinton, or whether it was with Vice President Harris I think it’s going to be very close,” he said.
Additionally, Vice President Harris’s selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate has sparked some discontent among Democrats. They were of the opinion that Pennsylvania Governor Joshua Shapiro, a popular two-term Democrat, could have been a more tactful pick.
This has fed into the ongoing controversy, with claims originating from Republican factions that Harris declined Shapiro because of his Jewish roots. Senator J. D. Vance from Ohio, Trump’s potential running mate, backed this assertion, alluding to apprehensions from anti-Israel progressives who speculate that Shapiro’s vice presidency would grant Israel undue influence over the White House.
Now that Governor Walz is officially partnering with Harris, the vice president has managed to steer clear of impromptu media questioning. But maintaining this strategy is becoming increasingly challenging, particularly when Fetterman publicly chides her campaign.
Also, the allegations surrounding Walz about his military career are swamping the Harris campaign.
It appears that Fetterman may be filling Senator Joe Manchin’s role who is stepping away from the Senate.
What’s also curious is that there are several reports that Fetterman was behind a whisper campaign for Harris to pick Walz instead of Shapiro.
