President Trump joked on Truth Social about renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America. He did this after Canada rejected his trade terms. The media went wild over this idea. They detested the change of the Gulf of Mexico’s name to the Gulf of America.
Refusal to adopt the new name caused The Associated Press to lose White House press pool access. They see red when a MAGA cap touches a map. The left changes names to fit their political agenda, but only when they are in charge.
This isn’t new. President Joe Biden renamed nine major U.S. Army bases that honored Confederate leaders. He altered Fort Bragg, Fort Benning, Fort Pickett, Fort Hood, and Fort Rucker. Across the nation, nearly 650 geographic features received new names from him as well. Under Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, they created a task force to change names with offensive terms like Squaw.
According to the Daily Signal, none of this was considered controversial by media elites. They called it good news because a Democrat did it. The woke police forced the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians to change their names. Many college teams lost their mascots too.
HBO host Bill Maher joked about the liberal reaction to Trump. He said the left is very pissed at this. He claimed they say you can’t just go around changing things. He added a joke about Latinx birthing persons. This term was forced on people, but Latinos hated it the most.
The Daily Signal notes that illegal immigrants are now called undocumented. Homeless people are unhoused. Gender is assigned at birth. Describing a woman as a birthing person strikes most as a war on truth.
It feels like a game of follow the leader, but the rules change. The Left expects everyone to follow their new terms. They try to force language on us all. They want to remake the language we use. Conservatives usually like to stick with traditions. But the media ignores this when Democrats do the same thing.
They pulled down statues in Richmond last week. They removed Confederate Gens. Stonewall Jackson and Extra Billy Smith. They also took down Confederate Dr. Hunter Holmes McGuire. The goal is to clean the Old South house.
