For years now, the liberal left has been trying to convince the nation that Donald Trump is some sort of foreign double agent.
That’s right: The “America First” politician is somehow a Russian asset, working secretly for Vladimir Putin in the sort of clandestine espionage scheme that would be written off in Hollywood as being too unrealistic for the big screen.
The recent FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago is merely an extension of this wild conspiracy theory, with the left purporting that Trump’s possession of documents from his time as President is somehow connected to this tall tale.
Senator Lindsey Graham, appearing on Fox News this week, explained:
Graham said, “This is the playbook of the Russia investigation where you read in The New York Times and The Washington Post about the investigation that all turns out to be BS. So what do I want? I want a special master to look at what was seized. I don’t trust the taint team. I want somebody outside of DOJ to look through these documents to see what is privileged, what is attorney-client.”
Graham continued…
He added, “Number two, I want the affidavit released to the American public. We are 80 days before an election, a midterm election, and we are going to be reading every few days in The Washington Post and The New York Timesand other liberal media outlets about what is in these documents and about what Trump knew and what he did. If you release the affidavit, all of us can judge what is there or not there. So this idea of drip, drip, drip, 80 days before an election, we need to see the affidavit.”
Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested that the documents in his possession at Mar-a-Lago were already declassified, and no charges have been filed against the former President, leading many to believe this to be nothing more than another political stunt aimed at keeping him from running for President again in 2024.
