Relative Comments On Investigation

The circle surrounding Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, is coming into sharper focus — and it paints a picture of a toxic ideological environment.

Robinson’s transgender roommate and romantic partner, according to family members, harbored deep hostility toward conservatives and Christians. In an interview with Fox News Digital, a relative described the roommate — who has not been charged and whose name has not been released publicly — as someone who was not raised to hate, but who became increasingly radicalized after turning 18.

“He hates conservatives and Christians,” the relative said flatly. “He hated us. He was not raised that way, but he, over the years, has become really detached [and] been radicalized.”

That radicalization, the relative claimed, appears to have intensified in the past year during the relationship with Robinson. Both young men were avid gamers, immersed in online subcultures where extreme rhetoric often festers.

“I think Tyler got a whole lot worse in the year they have been dating,” the relative continued. “They are big gamers, and obviously they have that group that influences them as well as others. But my gut tells me [the roommate] did more of the influencing.”

The family, shaken by the murder and the national outrage it has triggered, insists they want justice — not excuses. “Everybody in my family wants justice to be served and wants no part in this and wants whoever is involved in whatever way to have to pay for that,” the relative told Fox.

For now, investigators stress that Robinson’s roommate is not accused of wrongdoing. FBI officials say the individual has been “extremely cooperative” with the probe and has maintained he had no knowledge of Robinson’s plan to assassinate Kirk. Both Robinson and his partner lived in St. George, Utah, not far from their families.

It was Robinson’s father who ultimately recognized his son in surveillance footage released by the FBI and persuaded him to surrender.

That decision closed the manhunt, but it has opened a deeper question: how much did Robinson’s environment — including the influence of a partner consumed with hatred of conservatives — accelerate his descent into violence?
