Reporters Removed From Blinken Event

Well, folks, it seems the Biden administration is wrapping up its tenure in fitting style: a chaotic circus that’s equal parts embarrassing and disgraceful.

Case in point? Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s final press conference on Thursday devolved into absolute mayhem when two far-left activist bloggers posing as “journalists” decided to hijack the event. These two made sure to give us all a vivid reminder of the media’s descent into madness—and the administration’s utter inability to maintain a semblance of control or dignity.

It all started when Max Blumenthal, a far-left loudmouth best known for his unhinged tirades, decided it would be a good idea to scream his grievances at Blinken mid-speech. In a performance that would make your average college protester blush, Blumenthal ranted about Blinken “keeping the bombs flowing” and “sacrificing the rules-based order on the mantle of your commitment to Zionism.” Whatever that means. Not content to simply yell, he doubled down by accusing Blinken of enabling a “genocide” and even dragged in Blinken’s family, claiming he was “compromised by Israel” because of his father-in-law and grandfather. Classy.

Blinken, to his credit, repeatedly tried to de-escalate the situation, politely asking Blumenthal to save his questions for the Q&A portion. But Blumenthal, being the professional he most definitely is not, continued to shout baseless accusations and inflammatory rhetoric. At this point, it was clear that Blumenthal wasn’t there to ask questions—he was there to grandstand. And he got exactly what he wanted: security had to physically remove him from the room. Bravo, Max. Great journalism.

But the show wasn’t over yet. Enter Sam Husseini, another activist masquerading as a reporter. Husseini picked up right where Blumenthal left off, shouting about genocide and screaming, “Get your hands off me!” as security tried to remove him too. He accused Blinken of hypocrisy, shrieking about free press and Amnesty International, all while being carried out of the room. In what might be the most melodramatic moment of the year, he yelled, “Why aren’t you in The Hague?” over and over again, as if he were a gladiator being dragged from the Colosseum. You almost have to admire the theatrical commitment.

Blinken, for his part, tried to stay calm, asking for “respect for the process” as chaos unfolded around him. But let’s be honest here: the whole scene was a perfect metaphor for this administration. Disrespect, dysfunction, and desperation have been the hallmark of Biden’s tenure, and this press conference was no exception. Here we have an administration that loves to preach about “unity” and “order,” yet can’t even maintain control of its own press events without security having to physically haul people out. You can’t make this stuff up.

The broader irony here? These are the same people who love to lecture the rest of us about “free press” and “democracy,” yet when they’re faced with the chaos and consequences of their own policies—or the people their policies embolden—they can’t handle it. The reporters weren’t wrong to demand answers about Biden’s foreign policy failures, particularly in the Middle East. But their approach—shouting, ranting, and making wild accusations—was nothing short of disgraceful. And the administration’s inability to manage the situation? Even more pathetic.

This press conference wasn’t just a bad look for Blinken; it was a bad look for an entire administration that is limping out of office in disgrace. From its botched withdrawal from Afghanistan to skyrocketing inflation to the collapse of any coherent border policy, the Biden administration has left a mess that future leaders will be cleaning up for years. The least they could do is exit quietly. Instead, we get this—an administration that can’t even maintain its dignity on the way out the door.
