“Pencil Neck” Adam Schiff took another blow.
Thursday marked a dramatic turn of events in Washington as Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) introduced the “Preventing Extreme Negligence with Classified Information Licenses” (PENCIL) Resolution. The resolution would bar Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) from accessing any classified information due to what Gaetz’s office described as “egregious actions”.
Schiff, who is the current Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has been privy to classified materials regarding former President Donald Trump’s first impeachment and the Select Committee on the January 6 Attack. His access to this information has been a source of contention for many, especially in light of Schiff’s recent announcement of his candidacy to replace Senator Dianne Feinstein in the Senate.
In a statement released by Gaetz’s office, the resolution expresses “the sense of the U.S. House of Representatives that Congressman Adam Schiff should not have access to classified information, should be investigated by the House Ethics Committee, and should have his comments made during any proceeding of Congress regarding Russian Collusion and the Trump campaign be officially struck from the record.”
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Gaetz declared that “Democrats have willfully ignored the national security consequences of members like Schiff misrepresenting and leaking classified information to the press.” This resolution is a clear sign that the Republican party is not willing to let this issue slide and is prepared to take a stand.
It remains to be seen whether or not the resolution will pass and what repercussions will follow if it does. There is a lot of support for the bill that, if passed, will change how business will be done in Congress for at least the next two years.
Not to mention that the bill could seriously hurt Schiff’s chances of becoming a Senator.
Don’t you just love the fact that Republicans are naming bills after the Democrats? In the same week, Hawley introduces the “Pelosi Act,” and now Gaetz has introduced the “Pencil Resolution.” You gotta love it.
Honestly, after the way Schiff acted during the Trump presidency, he shouldn’t be allowed to come within 200 feet of a classified document.
