The dust has barely settled on the 2022 midterm elections, (and in some locales the counting is currently continuing), but that hasn’t stopped a number of high-powered politicos from preparing for the presidential race of 2024.
The first in line to start his political posturing for a run at the White House is, unsurprisingly, Donald Trump, with the former President having already suggested that he’ll be announcing his campaign next week.
But there is also plenty of evidence to suggest that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will find himself in the Republican race, and it has Trump pouncing early.
Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over his voter support on Wednesday, just one day after the Republican governor pulled off a historic, 20-percentage point victory in the state.
Trump was rather forthright in his assessment.
“Now that the election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
This is far from the first time that Trump has taken aim at DeSantis, with the former President suggesting just days ago that he could reveal some very “unflattering” things about the Florida Governor should he choose to oppose Trump in the Republican primary.
