Trump Team Comments On Upcoming Interview

The Trump campaign is turning up the heat on Vice President Kamala Harris as she gears up for her first interview since becoming the Democrats’ frontrunner in the 2024 race. In a move that’s sure to grab attention, Trump’s team shared a list of ten pointed questions they believe CNN’s Dana Bash must ask Harris during the pre-taped interview, set to air Thursday night.

The timing of the interview, just before Labor Day weekend, hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Trump campaign, which suggests that the Harris team is hoping the interview gets lost in the holiday shuffle. But Trump’s camp isn’t letting that happen without a fight.

The first question they want asked cuts right to the heart of Harris’s track record: “If you are capable of lowering prices for Americans, why haven’t you done it in the 3½ years you have been in office?” It’s a question that challenges Harris to explain why, if she claims she can fix inflation now, she hasn’t managed to do so during her tenure as Vice President.

Another question demands to know why housing affordability, which Harris says would be a “Day One priority” if she’s elected, hasn’t been a priority in her current role. The campaign also takes aim at her past support for far-Left policies like Medicare-for-All and the Green New Deal, asking whether she still backs these multi-trillion-dollar plans, despite her team’s efforts to downplay these positions.

The border crisis is another major point of contention. Trump’s team asks why Harris, who was put in charge of addressing the “root causes” of migration, hasn’t managed to secure the border, referencing specific cases where Americans were killed by illegal immigrants. They also challenged her on why she supported halting border wall construction and deportations, policies that they argue have worsened the situation.

One of the sharper questions digs into Harris’s silence regarding President Biden’s cognitive decline, asking why she concealed this from the American people. They also press her on her past support for defunding the police and ending cash bail, policies that have been linked to rising crime rates in certain areas.

The final question takes a broader swipe at Harris’s credibility, accusing her of sending anonymous aides to distance herself from the “radically liberal positions” she once openly championed. The Trump campaign bluntly asks, “Do you think lying to the American people is the best strategy?”

In their conclusion, the Trump team argues that the entire setup of Harris’s interview—being pre-taped and paired with her running mate, Governor Tim Walz—is an attempt to control the narrative and avoid tough, unscripted moments. They claim Harris is “scared” to face tough questions on her own and that the timing of the interview suggests an effort to bury it in the holiday weekend news cycle.

Whether these questions make it into the interview or not, the Trump campaign has already set the stage for a fierce political battle, challenging Harris to address the issues head-on as she steps into the national spotlight.
