Bondi Orders Grand Jury Investigation

Now this is a political earthquake: The Department of Justice has officially opened a grand jury investigation into an alleged conspiracy by Obama administration officials to manufacture intelligence about Russian interference in the 2016 election.

According to multiple reports, Attorney General Pam Bondi has directed a federal prosecutor to begin legal proceedings — and that prosecutor is expected to present evidence to a grand jury. Fox News first reported the move after reviewing a letter detailing Bondi’s directive.

This all comes on the heels of a bombshell from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who in July declassified and released documents that she says contain “overwhelming evidence” that senior Obama officials “manufactured and politicized intelligence” to prop up a false narrative of Trump-Russia collusion.

Gabbard didn’t mince words: she wants “every person involved” investigated, and she even formally referred former President Barack Obama himself to the DOJ.

The DOJ hasn’t offered public comment beyond acknowledging on July 23 that it had formed a Strike Force to “assess the evidence publicized” by Gabbard.

Meanwhile, Trump — who’s been calling the Russia narrative a hoax for years — responded in classic Trump fashion during an Oval Office presser: “It’s there. He’s guilty. This was treason.

This was every word you can think of. They tried to steal the election. They tried to obfuscate the election. They did things that nobody’s ever even imagined, even in other countries.”

Here’s what’s at stake: If this grand jury finds evidence that Obama-era officials cooked the books to frame Trump with Russian collusion, it would mark one of the most explosive political scandals in American history. It’s not just about partisanship — it’s about whether the intelligence apparatus of the United States was weaponized to take down a political opponent.

No indictments yet. No names formally targeted. But convening a grand jury isn’t a symbolic move. It means this is real — and that prosecutors are preparing to test the evidence in one of the most politically charged investigations in modern history.
