Christian apologist and YouTube creator Michael Jones says he is relocating his family after receiving what he describes as escalating threats and harassment related to his criticism of Islam.
Jones, who operates the Inspiring Philosophy YouTube channel with more than 550,000 subscribers, announced the situation in a video titled, “I need your help… this is getting dangerous…” In the video, he explained that he and his wife—who are expecting their second child—have decided to move for safety reasons.
Jones is known for producing videos that defend Christianity and examine religious topics, including debates about Islamic theology. His content has attracted both supporters and critics over the years, and he says recent reactions have become increasingly alarming.
According to Jones, some individuals have posted videos threatening him and attempting to identify his personal information online. He played clips in which critics warned that he would need to move homes because of his public statements about Islam. In another clip, an individual threatened to contact a school where Jones believes his sister works in an apparent effort to pressure or embarrass his family.
Jones argued that the threats reinforced his belief that criticism of Islam can provoke hostile responses from some individuals.
“The irony is not lost on anyone,” he said while discussing the messages he had received.
More troubling, Jones said, were comments that included violent and sexually explicit threats directed at both him and his wife. In the video, he played excerpts from posts in which one individual made disturbing remarks about his family. He also alleged that someone had displayed what appeared to be an online listing of his home while discussing his location publicly.
Jones further claimed that one of the individuals involved had traveled to a church in Los Angeles where he had been scheduled to speak, raising additional concerns about his family’s safety.
“Muslims are threatening violence, they’re stalking us, and they’re actively looking for my real home address,” Jones said in the video. “On top of all this madness, my wife and I are expecting our second child to be born soon.”
He said those circumstances left him with little choice but to relocate.
“So to keep my family safe while I keep spreading the gospel online, I have no choice but to move to a new home,” he explained.
To help cover the costs of the move, Jones launched a GoFundMe campaign and asked viewers to contribute if they were able. The response was swift. Within days, donations exceeded the campaign’s original $200,000 goal, reaching more than $250,000.
