Alright, folks, let’s talk about what Elon Musk just exposed—because if these numbers are even remotely accurate, we’re looking at what could be the single biggest fraud operation in American history.
Musk took to X on Sunday to drop a bombshell: millions of dead Americans are still listed as eligible for Social Security payments, with some technically collecting checks well into their 200s. And if that sounds insane, it gets worse—one individual is apparently alive in the government database at over 360 years old.
I mean, at this point, either we’ve uncovered the lost colony of vampires, or there’s been some serious government mismanagement.
Musk, who’s been leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under President Trump’s directive to slash wasteful spending, revealed that there are over 20 million Americans listed as 100+ years old in the Social Security database—and many of them are still marked as eligible to receive benefits.
Let’s break this down:
- 3.9 million people are supposedly aged 130-139.
- More than 3.5 million are in the 140-149 range.
- 1.3 million are listed as 150-159 years old.
- A shocking 1,039 individuals are still “alive” at 220-229.
- And at least one person is over 360.
Let’s be real—this isn’t some minor clerical error. This is systemic. This is decades of incompetence (or outright fraud) that has likely cost American taxpayers billions.
Musk himself called it “the biggest fraud in history”, and he’s not wrong. In 2024, 68.5 million Americans received Social Security benefits—but if Musk’s numbers are correct, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is inflating its eligibility rolls by as much as 60 million people. That’s nearly one-fifth of the U.S. population in fraudulent or mistaken claims.
How does something like this happen? Well, let’s take a wild guess—federal bureaucracies never expected anyone to actually audit them.
DOGE is now looking into just how much money has been funneled into Social Security payments for people who, let’s face it, shouldn’t be here anymore. The agency has been under scrutiny ever since Trump took office in January and vowed to clean house. And this isn’t the first massive waste Musk has uncovered—he’s already:
- Dismantled USAID, which was spending billions on foreign aid while Americans struggled.
- Exposed FEMA’s misuse of taxpayer dollars, including $59 million spent on luxury hotel rooms for illegal migrants in New York City.
- Slashed billions in federal contracts, targeting wasteful spending in the Department of Education and NIH, particularly in DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs.
- Pushed out 40,000 federal employees through a buyout program, offering them full pay through September in exchange for leaving their posts.
And now, the Social Security Administration is in the crosshairs.
At an Oval Office press event with President Trump last week, Musk didn’t hold back:
“We’ve got people in there that are 150-years-old,” he said. “Now do you know anyone who’s 150? I don’t know. They should be in the Guinness Book of World Records. They’re missing out.”
His conclusion? “They’re probably dead… or they should be very famous.”
The bigger question: How much of this is intentional?
Look, Social Security has long been untouchable in Washington, treated like a sacred cow no politician wants to mess with. But the numbers don’t lie. Either the SSA is riddled with the worst record-keeping in history, or somebody is collecting a whole lot of taxpayer money under fraudulent identities.
