Debate Performances Get Assessed By Media

Biden debate performance has gotten a lot of reaction from the media.

However, Ken Dilanian a Justice and Intelligence Correspondent for NBC News and for former AP, LA Times, USA TODAY, Philly Inquirer report possibly gave the most savage reaction.

    How bad was Biden?

Hardcore Democrats on social media were saying Joe’s performance made them cry.

“It made me weep.” “A total and unmitigated disaster.” “He looked like he wanted to be in bed.” These are just a few of the harsh assessments from prominent columnists urging President Joe Biden to reconsider his re-election bid following his performance at Thursday’s debate against former President Donald Trump.

In a scathing critique, New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman, a long-time friend and supporter of Biden, wrote, “Joe Biden, a good man and a good president, has no business running for re-election.” Friedman argued that while Biden has served the nation admirably, it’s time for him to step down and preserve his dignity.

This sentiment was echoed across the media landscape, from the New York Times to the Financial Times to the Wall Street Journal and the Atlantic. Left-leaning columnists, many of whom have covered Biden for years, expressed their concern that Biden’s performance confirmed the worst fears about his advanced age and its impact on his electability. “This can’t continue,” wrote Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan. She described the situation as bordering on “elder abuse” if Biden were to continue his campaign.

Noonan viewed the early debate as a “gift” for Democrats, providing them ample time to find a new nominee before the Democratic convention. “The dam broke,” she wrote. “There is still time, and Mr. Trump is still takable.” This optimistic take was shared by others. Edward Luce of the Financial Times and Mark Leibovich of the Atlantic both noted that the June debate gave Democrats a chance to address these issues well ahead of the election.

Until Thursday, Democrats were high on their own supply claiming Biden was fine.

But it was Dilanian who was the most honest and scathing.

“Special Counsel Robert Hur got an early glimpse of what the country saw last night and may have tried to convey a warning. He was savaged and maligned by the White House, by prominent Democrats and by partisan pundits,” he wrote.

Yup and that’s why those recordings of the interview aren’t being released.

However, if the Dems want Joe gone those Hur tapes are coming out one way or another.
