Leaked information is compromising federal immigration enforcement efforts, and Border Czar Tom Homan is determined to hold those responsible accountable. The latest breach involved the disclosure of a large-scale Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Los Angeles, just days after a similar leak in Aurora, Colorado. The leaks have not only undermined ICE’s ability to execute operations but have also put federal agents at risk.

Homan confirmed that an internal investigation identified the individual responsible for the Aurora leak. As for the Los Angeles breach, initial findings suggest that the source may be linked to the FBI.
Homan has been in direct contact with the Deputy Attorney General, who assured him that a criminal investigation is underway. The consequences for the leaker will be severe. “They have promised that not only will this person lose their job and lose their pension, they will go to jail,” Homan stated.

Government leaks are nothing new, but under the Trump administration, they were widespread, particularly within agencies resistant to immigration enforcement. Homan has made it clear that these disclosures are not acts of whistleblowing but deliberate efforts to obstruct federal law. The public nature of the leaks gives potential targets the opportunity to evade capture, and in some cases, creates situations where ICE officers could be ambushed.
Homan says the information comes after conversations he had with the Deputy AG over the weekend.

Homan has also reaffirmed the administration’s stance on sanctuary cities, calling them a direct impediment to law enforcement and national security. He has vowed to take aggressive action against jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.
