House Panel To Issues Subpoenas For Depositions In Investigation

Fox News Digital is reporting that House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has issued subpoenas to both Bill and Hillary Clinton in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case. And that’s not all. A who’s-who of political power players — former FBI directors, former attorneys general, and the DOJ itself — have also been slapped with subpoenas in what may be the most politically explosive round of testimony demands in recent memory.

This isn’t just symbolic. The subpoenas come with scheduled deposition dates:

  • Hillary Clinton: October 9

  • Bill Clinton: October 14

  • James Comey: October 7

  • Robert Mueller: September 2

  • Merrick Garland: October 2

  • Eric Holder: September 30

  • Loretta Lynch: September 19

  • William Barr: August 18

  • Jeff Sessions: August 28

  • Alberto Gonzales: August 26

Let that lineup sink in for a moment — both Clintons, two former FBI heads, and nearly every living attorney general from the past two decades, including the ones who served under Obama, Trump, and Bush. This is no fishing expedition. This is the GOP, under Trump’s restored leadership, applying a vice grip to a case that has lingered too long in the shadows of speculation.

And yes — Ghislaine Maxwell is also on the subpoena list, though her testimony is postponed pending a Supreme Court review of her conviction appeal.

So why now?

Partly because the DOJ recently claimed in a July memo that there was “no credible evidence” of a so-called Epstein “client list” — a claim that did not sit well with Trump’s base. The memo dismissed theories of widespread blackmail involving powerful figures and said no further prosecutions were warranted. Cue the outrage.

Steve Bannon, Laura Loomer, and others on the populist right blasted the memo as a cover-up. President Trump responded by tasking Attorney General Pam Bondi to dig deeper — and yes, her deputy met face-to-face with Maxwell in a Florida prison before her recent transfer. The message from the White House is clear: no more secrets.

Meanwhile, Democrats — now suddenly demanding transparency of their own — are being called out for what the GOP sees as shameless opportunism. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t hold back:

“The Democrats had control of this building, the White House, for four years, and they didn’t do a dang thing when it came to transparency in regards to Jeffrey Epstein and his heinous crimes.”

The subpoenas come with a deadline for the DOJ as well — August 19 — to produce all records tied to Epstein. Whether they’ll comply is another question entirely.
