Cheatle Gives Account During ABC News Interview

United States Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle has begun to make some comments as more calls grow for her to resign.

The first thing that Cheatle does is blame the local police who do bear some responsibility.

“There was local police in that building — there was local police in the area that were responsible for the outer perimeter of the building,” Cheatle said in the interview about the local police, per the New York Times.

Here’s where the stupid comes in.

Cheatle told ABC News, “That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof.”

She added, “And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside.”

Folks, here’s the video of people observing the shooter note the “pitch” on the roof.

Here’s a video of the counter-sniper team and the roof they are positioned on.

Look, I’m not going to get into a geometry battle but those two roofs seem awfully similar.

What Cheatle said is some higher-up gobbly gook that sounds great on paper until you look at the video.

Second, no matter if someone was or wasn’t on the roof Cheatle herself said that the “shooter was actually identified as a potential person of suspicion.”

CBS News reported that the shooter was seen on the roof using a range finder but then they lost track of him for about 30 minutes. Police on the ground radioed to command what took place.

From CBS News:

Bear with the long excerpt please we posted a lot of it for context.

There were three snipers stationed inside the building the shooter used during Saturday’s shooting of former President Donald Trump, a local law enforcement officer with direct knowledge of the incident tells CBS News.

The operations plan had them stationed inside the building looking out windows toward the Trump rally. The information about the three snipers being inside the building was first reported by BeaverCountian.com.

One of the snipers inside saw Thomas Matthew Crooks outside and looking up at the roof, observing the building and disappearing, a local law enforcement officer tells CBS News.

Crooks came back, sat down and looked at his phone. At that point, one of the snipers took a picture of him. Crooks took out a rangefinder and the sniper radioed to the command post. Crooks disappeared again and then came back a third time with a backpack. The snipers called in with information that he had a backpack and said he was walking towards the back of the building.

Officers believe that Crooks might have used an air conditioning unit to get on top of the roof.

By the time other officers came for backup, he had climbed on top of the building and was positioned above and behind the snipers inside the building, the officer said.

Two other officers who heard the sniper’s call tried to get onto the roof. State police started rushing to the scene, but by that time, a Secret Service sniper had already killed Crooks, the officer said.

What Cheatle hasn’t answered is why the hell they let Trump take the stage when they had this type of activity.

Think of how quietly they could have handled this and been heroes.

Really, a pitch slope is going to be the excuse? Give me a break.

Now there is one question that needs to be answered that could clear all of this up. When the local police snipers radio command what they were observing, what did their command do with that information?

Did they inform the Secret Service?

Often, with these big operations, not everyone is on the same radio, so the question is, what did “command” do after receiving that info?
