Trump, Kamala, Biden All Attend 9/11 Ceremony

The day after the ABC debate, there’s plenty to unpack. Still, one thing stands out above all: Kamala Harris was given a free pass to spread a string of unchallenged falsehoods. At the same time, the moderators made a sport of fact-checking Donald Trump, often on things that were either true or clearly just opinions. It’s become a predictable pattern—Trump gets held to the fire while Harris gets a free ride.

But Monday wasn’t just about the debate. It was also the anniversary of 9/11, and both candidates found themselves in New York City for the occasion. What should’ve been a solemn day of remembrance ended up overshadowed by a couple of tone-deaf remarks from both Harris and Joe Biden, leaving many people understandably frustrated.

Harris, during the debate, tried to score points by bringing up the January 6 Capitol riot, calling it “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War.” Now, that statement alone is jaw-dropping, but the timing made it even worse. How can you possibly make such a statement on the anniversary of 9/11, forgetting about Pearl Harbor and, more importantly, the 9/11 attacks themselves?

It’s not just bad judgment—it’s outright offensive. And let’s not forget, Harris might not be the best person to talk about democracy given the fact that the Democratic Party sidelined its own voters by propping her up as vice president, despite her own embarrassing flop during the primaries.

And then there was Joe Biden, who had his own cringeworthy moment. When referencing 9/11, he made the bizarre remark about “doing 9/11” when he went to visit his granddaughter. Seriously? On a day that’s etched into the hearts of every American, that’s how the President of the United States chooses to speak?

But the real kicker came the next day when the wife of a 9/11 fire chief publicly chastised Biden for what she called his “flippant” remarks and took him to task for his administration’s attempt to strike a plea deal with the 9/11 terrorists. This widow wasn’t alone in her outrage—many 9/11 survivors and families have been sounding the alarm about the Biden-Harris administration’s inexplicable decision to negotiate with the very people responsible for that horrific day.

It’s unconscionable. After all these years, there should be no debate—justice for the 9/11 victims should be non-negotiable. The fact that these families even had to rally against this deal in the first place is a stain on the Biden administration’s record.

It didn’t help optics that Biden and Harris, alongside Senator Chuck Schumer, were conspicuously absent when the widow was speaking. Trump and JD Vance? They stayed and listened. Now, to be fair, Biden and Harris were headed to Shanksville for another 9/11 remembrance, but you’d think they’d have timed it better. After all, Trump and Vance managed to attend both events, but they were still stuck around to hear from the families.

The contrast couldn’t be more stark. While Harris and Biden fumbled with their remarks and priorities, Trump and Vance were there, standing with the families and showing respect. And that’s what people remember—not just what’s said on the debate stage, but who actually shows up when it counts.
