Travis Kelce Now Game Show Host

You have to hand it to the guy, he’s cashing in on his newfound fame.

NFL player Travis Kelce is set to become the host of a new game show titled “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” The program, which will be available on Amazon Prime Video, pairs contestants with celebrities to answer elementary-level trivia questions. This show is a creative spin-off of the Fox network’s successful series “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” that first aired in 2007.

At 34 years old, Kelce is not just known for his athletic prowess as a tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs, a team with which he has won the Super Bowl three times, most recently in February. He is also recognized in the media for his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift. Kelce expressed his excitement for game shows, stating, “I grew up loving game shows, and I’m excited to be following in the footsteps of so many TV icons by hosting my very first one.”

Kelce’s new show will feature a unique twist where adult contestants are not competing against the celebrity guests but rather working with them to navigate through a series of 11 questions that mirror a primary school curriculum. Successful contestants have the chance to win a significant cash prize of $100,000.

Amazon has shown confidence in the potential of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” by ordering twenty episodes of the series. In addition to his upcoming role as a game show host, Kelce continues to engage with fans through his sports podcast “New Heights.”

In a recent appearance at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Kelce was seen with Taylor Swift, who appeared to be enjoying the event a little too much. A viral video analyzed by Jackie Gonzalez, a former “Squid Game” actor known for her lip-reading skills, suggests Swift apologized to Kelce for being drunk at the festival.
