President Donald Trump and DOGE chief Elon Musk sat down with Fox News’ Sean Hannity for an exclusive interview Wednesday night, offering a clear-eyed assessment of what it will take to pull America back from the brink of fiscal collapse. The message was simple: full transparency, relentless efficiency, and a war on bureaucratic bloat.
“You know what’s better than saying ‘Trust me’? It’s just full transparency,” Musk told Hannity. “So, what we’re doing with DOGE, just go to DOGE.gov. You can see every single action that’s been taken.” That level of openness is something Washington isn’t used to, and it’s exactly why the political establishment is in full-blown panic mode.
Trump put it bluntly: “Our country is in serious trouble, and I had to get the best guy.” The president made it clear that despite media attempts to manufacture a rivalry between him and Musk, the two are fully aligned in their mission. “If there’s any conflict, he will stop it. But if he didn’t, I’d stop it.”

Since Trump’s return to office, DOGE has gone to work dismantling the bureaucratic rot that has drained taxpayers dry for decades. The agency has already targeted bloated bureaucracies like the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Education—institutions that have hemorrhaged taxpayer dollars for years while producing little to no tangible results.
And, of course, the Democrats—whose entire political machine runs on taxpayer-funded slush funds—are in full meltdown mode. Musk dismissed their outrage as nothing more than an “antibody reaction from those who are receiving the wasteful and fraudulent money.” He’s right. When your entire racket depends on keeping the money spigot open, the last thing you want is someone like Musk turning off the valve.

Musk acknowledged that DOGE “might make some mistakes” but vowed to “fix them very quickly.” Unlike the bureaucratic leviathan, which thrives on inefficiency, the Musk-Trump partnership is about results.
But beyond the political drama, the stakes couldn’t be higher. The U.S. government is hurtling toward an economic catastrophe. As Musk warned, “If we don’t solve the deficit, there won’t be money for medical care, there won’t be money for Social Security… America will go bankrupt if this is not done.”
Musk went even further, delivering a sobering reality check to the globalist elites who think they can escape the consequences of America’s decline: “If the ship of America sinks, we’re all going down with it.” There is no fleeing to New Zealand. There is no safe haven. “If the central pillar of Western civilization, that is America, falls, the whole roof comes crashing down, and there is no escape.”

Trump, for his part, assured Hannity that with DOGE cuts and a boost in revenue from tariffs and other economic policies, America could see a balanced budget “very quickly.” He noted that without this intervention, the country was on a path to economic disaster. “This country was headed down a very bad track,” Trump said.
