Biden Admin Hosts Kim Kardashian

During former President Trump’s time in office Kim Kardashian worked with him to commute sentences of non-violent offenders.

From ABC News on March 4, 2020:

Kim Kardashian West met with President Donald Trump and several women whose prison sentences he commuted at the White House on Wednesday, multiple administration officials confirmed to ABC News.

She announced the visit on Twitter Wednesday morning saying the visit would not only bring “light to these women” but open discussion for “more change that our justice system desperately needs!”

West has worked with the White House on criminal justice reform issues since 2018, when she appealed to the president directly to secure the commutation of Alice Marie Johnson, who served 21 years for a nonviolent drug offense, and has stayed in touch with the president’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner — who led the administration’s push for prison reform legislation — ever since.

Recently, President Biden granted clemency to 16 people who were convicted of nonviolent drug offenses.

“America is a nation founded on the promise of second chances,” the president said in a written statement. “During Second Chance Month, we reaffirm our commitment to rehabilitation and reentry for people returning to their communities post incarceration. We also recommit to building a criminal justice system that lives up to those ideals and ensures that everyone receives equal justice under law. That is why today I am announcing steps I am taking to make this promise a reality.”

White House public engagement director Steve Benjamin and Vice President Kamala Harris both hosted the reality TV star to thank her for her roll.

Biden was not present for the visit. Which may have been a good idea after the Eva Longoria incident.

First, Biden boldly announced tariffs on China, which he campaigned against. Now his administration is mimicking another Trump policy to pander.
