Federal agents knocked on doors in California this week to ask about voting records. The Department of Justice announced that more than 20 green card holders were arrested for allegedly registering or voting illegally, according to Breitbart.
This operation ramped up in September, just a few months before the midterms. One 72-year-old man from Belize was taken into custody while still in his pajamas. He faces charges for illegally voting in the past four elections.
CBS News received confirmation from a DHS representative that the agency is actively hunting down and probing election fraud across all locations where it exists. The department says these actions aim to stop the dilution of votes cast by U.S. citizens.
President Trump’s administration has pledged through HSI to restore election system integrity and guarantee that only American citizens vote for American leaders. Agents reportedly responded to dozens of homes to verify immigration status and voter registration.
Left-wing critics argue that sending armed federal agents to residents’ homes could scare lawful voters. Jessica Marsden, representing Protect Democracy as a lawyer, argues the federal government is intervening in state voter roll verification procedures in a manner never seen before. She further noted that the initiative appears deliberately crafted to frighten eligible voters away from casting ballots. The group is currently suing the DHS over the operation.
Armed and in uniform, federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security have been knocking on doors in several states to ask residents about their immigration status — and to inquire if they have registered to vote or cast votes in past elections, a CBS News Investigation has found.

Senator Elissa Slotkin, a Democrat from Michigan, warned that her party fears a national security incident might be used to change election results. According to her remarks, during the final two weeks before the election, they allegedly fabricate a national security crisis exclusively they can resolve.
President Trump dismissed her concerns as politics as usual. During a press gaggle, he asserted that Democrats have weaponized the government, stating that is their method. He later called Slotkin a LOW-LIFE who’s RUINING her state for her comments.
The DHS spokesperson rebutted allegations of intimidation by explaining that individuals present legally and complying with all other laws need not worry. The operation focuses specifically on preventing noncitizens from casting ballots in federal elections. While the arrests have drawn sharp criticism from advocacy groups, the administration maintains the goal is to protect the vote. The question remains how many more investigations will follow before Election Day.
