Senator Gets Caught On Hot Mic

Well, this was a rather intriguing and hilarious moment involving Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa. Caught on a hot mic, Ernst made an offhand comment referencing a gaffe made by President Joe Biden.

During a press conference, she was making comments about Biden’s border policy.

When she was done a hot mic picked up her saying, “Bottom line: never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.”

Ernst also signed a strongly worded letter promising to oppose judicial nominees, spending bills, and other Democratic legislation in protest of Trump’s recent felony convictions in New York. This letter was signed by several Republican Senators, including J.D. Vance of Ohio, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama, Eric Schmitt of Missouri, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Rick Scott of Florida, Roger Marshall of Kansas, Marco Rubio of Florida, Josh Hawley of Missouri, and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin.

The letter, authored by Senator Mike Lee of Utah, expresses deep discontent with the Biden administration’s handling of Trump’s conviction. It reads, “The White House has made a mockery of the rule of law and fundamentally altered our politics in un-American ways. As a Senate Republican conference, we are unwilling to aid and abet this White House in its project to tear this country apart.”

This statement is a reaction to Trump’s conviction for falsifying business records in connection to hush money payments made to porn star Stormy Daniels. These payments were allegedly intended to silence her about an affair with Trump ahead of the 2016 presidential election. Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts related to these charges.

The letter signed by Ernst and her colleagues clearly outlines their stance: they will not support any increase in non-security related funding for the Biden administration or any appropriations bill that funds what they describe as “partisan lawfare.” They also vowed not to expedite or pass any Democrat legislation or authorities that are not directly related to the safety of the American people. Additionally, they have pledged to oppose the confirmation of Biden administration political or judicial appointees.
