Two USA Contractors Injured In Gaza Handing Out Aid

Two American contractors — both decorated military veterans — were injured Saturday when terrorists launched grenades at a U.S.-backed humanitarian aid distribution site in Gaza, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) confirmed. The attack, which occurred shortly after food was distributed to local civilians, involved Iranian-made grenades packed with ball bearings.

The U.S. contractors, employed by GHF to help provide security and logistics for the food delivery operation, were swiftly evacuated by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and are currently in stable condition. According to the foundation, no Gazan civilians or workers were harmed in the attack.

Though no group officially claimed responsibility, GHF directly accused Hamas, citing previous threats and escalating attempts to disrupt humanitarian operations in the region.

“Yesterday, GHF marked the 4th of July with 60 million meals delivered on behalf of America — and a wish for Gaza’s independence from fear and terror,” said GHF Director Rev. Johnnie Moore.
“Hamas responded by throwing grenades at two Americans feeding hungry families. Violence is always their answer to hope.”

Saturday’s grenade attack was not an isolated event. According to GHF, Hamas has offered bounties for the injury or death of both American and Palestinian workers affiliated with the foundation. These threats have been both public and covert, and sources familiar with GHF operations told The Daily Wire that Hamas operatives have routinely entered food sites under the guise of civilians, likely to assess security and logistics.

Due to the urgency of food distribution, individuals entering aid zones are not screened, meaning hostile actors can come within meters of U.S. contractors. And with limited authority on-site, GHF’s American security staff cannot detain suspects or share intelligence with the IDF.

The environment is growing increasingly dangerous. GHF previously revealed that Hamas assassinated around a dozen Palestinian aid workers as they traveled to a distribution site last month. Survivors were reportedly denied care at Nasser Hospital, further underscoring the militant group’s grip on Gaza’s civil infrastructure.

A senior Trump administration official told The Daily Wire that despite mounting global distractions, “this administration remains laser-focused on Gaza.” The official also warned Hamas to “be careful not to miscalculate.”

The U.S. State Department issued a swift condemnation of the attack.

“This act of violence against the people actually bringing relief to Gazans lays bare the depravity of Hamas,” said State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce.
“GHF has contributed over 62 MILLION MEALS – nothing will stop these courageous aid workers. We are praying for the rapid recovery of the injured Americans.”

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also weighed in:

“With Hamas no good deed goes unpunished,” he posted on X.

Despite the mounting threats, GHF continues to operate. Since beginning operations in late May, the foundation has distributed more than 62 million meals — including 1.8 million meals delivered on Saturday alone, the same day the attack occurred.

But GHF is also increasingly critical of the international aid community and media, whom it accuses of complicity through silence.

“For weeks, we warned this would happen,” the group said in a blistering statement.
“We asked the aid community to condemn threats. They stayed silent. We asked the media to stop laundering Hamas lies. They kept printing. Today, Hamas followed through by attacking American veterans with grenades as they delivered food. The silence is deafening.”

According to GHF insiders, Hamas views the foundation as a direct threat — not militarily, but ideologically. Unlike most aid organizations, GHF delivers aid securely and directly to civilians, bypassing Hamas’s extortion, taxation, and black-market networks.

“GHF’s secure delivery model prevents Hamas from diverting, taxing, or controlling aid,” a source said.
“By delivering food without interference, GHF undermines Hamas’s grip over the population and its ability to weaponize aid for political leverage.”

That threat, it seems, has not gone unanswered — and the cost is now being borne by American veterans and local workers simply trying to feed the hungry.
