A hospital hires 82 new doctors. Only two are American citizens. The other 80 hold foreign visas. That is the shocking claim hitting a New York hospital right now.
The Trump administration is not letting this slide. U.S. Department of Labor Inspector General Anthony D’Esposito demanded answers on Sunday. He wants a full breakdown of who got those jobs.
.@ROCRegional: Show us the numbers. How many residency slots went to H‑1B and J‑1 visa holders? How many American applicants got a fair shot?@POTUS’ EO puts visa abuse under the microscope.
If the system is being gamed, we’ll work with @VP’s @WHFraudTF to expose it. https://t.co/1WTz3S9yAH

While the viral claim awaits verification, the paper trail looks heavy. Per Daily Wire, hospital data shows a huge reliance on foreign workers. The system filed 95 H-1B applications in 2025 alone. They filed 39 more in 2026.
BREAKING: Rochester General Hospital in New York hired 82 resident doctors.
80 are foreign workers on H-1B or J-1 visas.
Only 2 are Americans.98% of the residency slots went to visa workers- mostly from countries with documented USMLE cheating.

Since 2016, the database lists 421 H-1B filings. These cover 634 specific positions. Many are labeled “Medical Resident Physician.” The hospital’s own data points to a pattern of hiring foreign staff over locals.
This trend goes beyond just doctors. Daily Wire notes that about 150 international nurses moved to Rochester recently. Another 80 nurses are still waiting for their visas. The hospital calls this an “important part of the health system’s workforce strategy.”
Our medical system is structurally designed to promote foreign labor and hurt Americans.
Americans are routinely blocked from becoming doctors by our outdated residency match program, in favor of foreign grads.
This absurd practice harms Americans and our medical profession. https://t.co/CksrQ4k6np

Officials say this isn’t just about filling seats. They say the system is being abused.
Look at this chart.
These are American residency programs.Red = foreign resident doctors.
Grey = Americans. Some hospitals are almost 100% foreign. A lot of these doctors came in on visas. Some have been tied to fake credentials and USMLE cheating scandals.

He promised action if fraud is found.
Other experts agree the problem is deep.
Fixing this does not mean tearing everything down. There are smarter ways to handle it. According to one observer, there are methods to achieve this without reversing the advancements established by Trump’s own administration in 2019.
